Women's Resource Center Parents Support Group
The Women's Resource Center hosts a support group in Spring City for parents of school age (or younger) children. The support group is an open forum, faciliated by Master's level social workers. Announcing NAMI Basics!
NAMI BASICS is a six week education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illness. It is facilitated by trained parents/caregivers who have lived similar experiences with their own child/adolescent. NAMI BASICS provides learning and practical insights for families and is offered free of charge. REGISTRATION is REQUIRED. Learn more about NAMI BASICS.

Once a week for 12 consecutive weeks and for no charge, families of persons diagnosed with a serious mental illness have the opportunity to learn about the major mental illnesses from trained family members. The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. Bucks County announces its fall class schedule. For the first time, due to popular demand, there will be a Family to Family class in the upper Bucks area. There is no cost to take the classes, however registration IS REQUIRED.

The Family-to-Family curriculum focuses on diagnosis, medications, brain function, and communication skills for disorders such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Family-to-Family classes are offered in hundreds of communities across the country as well as in Canada and Mexico.
